SheetBox

From flowchart to spreadsheet!

Build Spreadsheets Visually

SheetBox.ca is a free online calculation platform that transforms interactive flowcharts into clean, color-coded Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) and comma-separated values (.csv) spreadsheets. Traditional spreadsheets often become difficult to audit when complex multi-step formulas are buried inside nested cell coordinates like =(F26*(B26+0.5*E26*E26*$B$8*$E$4))/(F26*(1+$B$7*E26)). SheetBox solves this by letting you design your calculation graph visually—connecting parameters, physical constants, unit conversions, and textbook-style equations on an infinite canvas—while automatically compiling every wire and operation into live Excel cell formulas.

How SheetBox Works in 4 Steps

1. Define Inputs & Parameters

Place Input Blocks onto the canvas for your known variables, physical constants, and design parameters. Assign each variable a mathematical symbol, description, default numerical value, physical unit, and custom Excel cell fill color.

2. Wire Operations & Unit Converters

Connect inputs to Operation Blocks and Unit Converters. Choose from over 50+ built-in physics equations rendered with KaTeX, or author your own custom mathematical expressions using functions like SQRT(), SIN(), COS(), LOG(), LN(), and EXP().

3. Organize Tables with Groups & Sheets

Arrange Input and Output Blocks inside Groups to structure your spreadsheet into titled section tables. Stack blocks vertically to control row order, connect Group Arrow Ports to place tables side-by-side or stacked in Excel, and distribute groups across multiple workbook tabs.

4. Preview, Share & Export to Excel (.xlsx)

Inspect your live spreadsheet in real time using Split View, share password-protected read-only project links with colleagues or students, and export a formatted .xlsx workbook where every output cell contains a genuine, dynamically linked Excel formula.
